I love couples that are down for an adventure. After tossing a few locations back and forth with Janssen we decided to head East for a snowy Angeles National Forest engagement session.

There is one main highway that cuts directly through the forest- the Angeles Crest Highway. As we headed up into the mountains, we watched in the rear view mirror as the city slowly disappeared behind us. We were soon encircled by nothing but trees, glistening white snow, and spectacular views. We didn’t have any locations in mind specifically as to where we were going to go, so as we drove we pulled over for any cool areas that caught our attention.

During our drive we stumbled upon an empty campground that we got to play in all by ourselves. Nearby, there was a cliff overlooking a deep valley that I knew would make for some killer views. We had to do a bit of hiking to get up to the overlook but once we reached the top all three of us knew it was 100% worth it. The juxtaposition between the natural landscape we were surrounded by and Marc + Janssen’s formal outfits looked so beautiful and Janssen’s red dress from The Jetset Diaries practically popped out of the frame! I absolutely loved the little details her dress had for me to photograph.

After our climb back down the mountain we hopped back in the car and were off to find some snow to play in. Located just off the main road was a hiking trail that gets very little sun during the day so all of the snow was really well preserved. Janssen + Marc braved the snow and headed down the path with me to find a winter wonderland. Our timing couldn’t have been any better. The warm sun was beaming through the trees and giving off the most beautiful light. As the evening started to approach, Janssen + Marc did an outfit change into something a little more comfortable and a whole lot warmer. Janssen’s Tacori engagement ring sparkled in the last few minutes of daylight. I’m so humbled that these two chose me to come along and document their engagement and I can’t wait until their wedding in September!
