Destination weddings are quickly becoming my favorite way to celebrate a couple’s big day. Grace + Roman’s Bernardus Lodge wedding in Carmel, CA was certainly no exception. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they were married on a warm summer day with the Carmel Valley as their backdrop. With guests traveling from all over the world to watch Grace + Roman tie the knot, this was certainly a gorgeous event that they will remember for a lifetime.
Carmel has always held a special place in my heart. I have been traveling there since I was 12 years old to visit my cousin and her family. They own the tastiest restaurants in downtown Carmel and live the happiest, down-to-Earth lifestyle. Whenever I know I’m headed up that way for work I always make it a point to arrive a couple days early so I can spend time with family, visit food heaven, and just reset my mind and bring myself back to center.
Bernardus Lodge boasts everything I love about the Carmel Valley- natural beauty. Surrounded by perfectly manicured lavender fields, lush vegetable gardens, and endless rows of vineyards, this was the perfect location for a summertime wedding.
Grace + Roman’s wedding details were everything I strive for when I photograph. They were timeless, tasteful, and nothing was over the top. When I met Grace in her bridal suite in the morning and took my first look at her Galia Lahav dress, I knew it was going to be good day. Roman channeled his inner GQ and donned Hugo Boss from head to toe. With touches of blush tones scattered throughout the day this timeless affair was an absolute dream to capture.
After capturing romantic sunset portraits in the vineyard we headed to the reception to meet up with the rest of the guests. After some dancing, heartfelt speeches, and a delicious dinner, Grace and Roman headed outside for a colorful sendoff. Enjoy!
