Greystone Mansion Engagement
While Lindsey and I were in New York over Halloween weekend we took a day trip to capture Lily + Steven’s Fall Boston engagement session. We would only be in town for a total of 8 hours so as soon as we landed we picked up our rental car and planned out the locations we wanted to scout out first. Our first stop (not photo related) was to James Hook and Co for some tasty lobster rolls and have a proper introduction with this famous East Coast city.
After stuffing our faces we were off to the Boston Public Library. I had done some research online trying to find classic architecture around downtown and this building was on the top of my list. After arriving it simply was not feasible with the sheer amount of visitors that were constantly meandering around. We quickly hopped in our car and headed to location #2- the gas lamp district. This place had me feeling all giddy inside. From the classic cobblestone streets to the historic, ivy-covered homes I was in photographer’s heaven.
By the time we finished scouting there, it was time to meet up with Lily, Steven, and their pup Sydney at Harvard College. As we made our way across the grounds we admired all of the classic East Coast architecture, which was only made more beautiful by all of the surrounding fall foliage. We met out front of the steps of the Widener Library, one of the most iconic buildings on Harvard’s campus. We grabbed some shots of the three of them in front of the library. Sydney wore the sweetest blue bandana with the couple’s wedding date that was perfectly color coordinated with Lily and Steven’s outfits. We soon left campus and headed over to the Charles River for some photos.
We left Cambridge after snapping photos at the river and made our way back into downtown Boston. Our first stop was at Acorn Street- the epitome of old-school Boston. Being one of the last few remaining cobblestone streets of Boston I knew this would be a perfect location for some portraits. We walked around a bit finding beautiful little nooks and captured lots of sweet moments along the way. Lily and Steven donned their second set of outfits by this time and they looked so dreamy together! Lily had on a white floor length maxi dress and Steven sported a midnight blue suit. Both had on a great pair of tan leather shoes, perfect for the season and for roaming the streets of Boston.
Our last location of the evening was Boston Harbor. As we arrived the sun just began to dip behind the clouds but the light was absolutely perfect. In the background, you could see sailboats taking evening tours around the harbor. This made for the best background and it was so fun to see them go by and cheer on this awesome couple. I’m beyond thrilled that we were able to capture Lily and Steven’s Fall Boston engagement session and I can’t wait to see them again this Summer for their wedding in Tuscany!
