I had the pleasure of photographing a local Los Angeles Carondelet House wedding at the beginning of August. This 1920’s Italian villa located in the heart of downtown LA is a staple of all things chic and is a highly sought after venue for many SoCal brides. From the moment I first saw the Carondelet House online, I knew I had to shoot there. With warm wood floors, exposed brick walls, and 2 exterior courtyards I knew that this wedding would be something out of a fairytale. Every room that I entered throughout the venue boasted classic architecture and the styling was something right out of a magazine. I knew there would be no shortage of locations that day to shoot. This Carondelet House wedding was dreamy!
Both Tina and Shin work in the creative industry so it is no wonder that the styling and décor of the day perfectly complimented the rustic beauty of the venue. The black accents found in Tina’s dress and shoes as well as on the table runner were a great balance with the warm colors of the venue and really gave the wedding a feel of autumn. It’s truly an honor to work with couples that are so deeply in love. There was certainly no shortage of hugs, kisses, and tears of happiness on their wedding day. Family and friends flew in from all over the country as well as the groom’s parents coming in from Japan.
Upon arriving at the venue, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I kept thinking in my head as I walked around the venue, “this is going to be one hell of a good day.” And it was.
Earlier in the day, Tina surprised Shin with a Fuji road bike perfectly fitted with a big red bow as a wedding present. Shin was even more surprised than we expected and I even managed to snap a few frames of him doing laps up and down the street while fully suited.
The venue provided signature cocktails, a gourmet buffet, and some incredible finger food. After dinner, everyone proceeded to the front hall where they danced the night away. I can’t wait to shoot at the Carondelet House again!
