Reception

Everyone headed inside the massive tent to start the reception’s festivities once the sun had set. By this time, the property had a magical glow from all the surrounding tiki torches. Hundreds of garlands of local foliage and florals were seen throughout, exuding the Polynesian theme of the day. Long garlands of white orchids decorated Camille and David’s chairs. Couches with floral accents were provided for the guests to lounge during the festivities. Guests were served authentic Hawaiian dishes for dinner and Polynesian entertainment was provided throughout the night. Everyone absolutely loved the hula dancers and fire spinners.

Later in the evening, Camille and David danced with their parents while guests watched in admiration.

Kaupulehu Beach Club Hawaii Wedding

At the end of October, we flew to the big island of Hawaii to photograph an absolutely stunning wedding at the Kaupulehu Beach Club just outside of Kona. Camille Grammer (cast member of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) tied the knot with her fiancé David on a beautiful Saturday evening overlooking a black sand beach.

Getting Ready

We met Camille in the morning at her house overlooking the ocean where she and all of her bridesmaids got ready. Ricardo Ferrise provided hair and makeup to Camille and all of her ladies. A dear friend and fashion designer named Malan Breton created the custom gown that was waiting for us when we arrived. He designed a two-piece gown with a detachable train and delicate floral details throughout.

The bouquets and floral design of the day paid homage to the local plant life on the island. It boasted white and green accents and was primarily composed of orchids, palm leaves, and white sugarbush. Before Camille and the ladies headed off to the ceremony site, they took a quick joyride around the neighborhood. Camille’s matron of honor, Rose, brought her vintage 1959 Bianchina along for the day.

David kept it classy and timeless with his attire. He donned a patterned cumberbun, Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, and a black bowtie. He accompanied the outfit with a custom made Malan Breton jacket in white. His groomsmen all sported tuxedos with black slacks and white jackets. All of the guys looked like they were straight out of the Rat Pack. As a gift to his groomsmen, David got them all Mont Blanc pens. A truly tasteful and timeless gift!

Ceremony

Guests were greeted with white orchid leis and tasty cocktails made with local ingredients served by locals in traditional Polynesian attire. The ceremony site was located on the lawn of the Kaupulehu Beach Club overlooking the ocean and a volcanic black sand beach. What was so unique about the site was the altar. It was fixed beneath an enormous structure adorned with palm fronds and encircled by clear chairs. The altar could be viewed from all angles so every guest had the best seat in the house. Camille’s Dad walked her down the aisle to meet David who was teary-eyed. This was his first time seeing his bride-to-be since they didn’t have a first look.

Cocktail Hour

Following the ceremony, we quickly hurried down to the beach after the ceremony to capture the sunset and romantic portraits. Fortunately for us, we not only got the most beautiful photos juxtaposed with the most sublime sunset, but we also got to enjoy a rainbow in the background. We headed back to cocktail hour, afterward, to mingle with guests and capture family and bridal party photos.
