Malibu Rocky Oaks Engagement

Prepare yourselves for a visual treat with this Malibu Rocky Oaks engagement session. It has everything from a show-stopping couple and vintage car, to a hilltop Italian-inspired villa. I truly enjoyed photographing this sweet couple and taking them around one of my favorite venues in Southern California.

Lauren and Matt both live in New York where they will have their wedding next year. Since their venue is on the East Coast we thought it would be a fun idea of change up the scenery. We tossed ideas back and forth until we settled on the iconic Malibu Rocky Oaks. This venue had everything we were looking for: unparalleled views, Italian vibes, and endless warm California light. To add even more fun to the day, I suggested that the two rent a vintage car to incorporate in to the shoot. They decided on a the most beautiful, silver Corvette Stingray. It was the perfect accessory to include with this stylish couple.

We began our session in the front of the property with the Corvette while the sun was still hash on the mountainside. Lauren and Matt’s first outfits were monochromatic with white and blue tones which perfectly complimented the silver ‘Vette. They were both simple and chic- the perfect attire for a Summer vacation in Tuscany!

Second Outfits & Location

We later moved to the other side of the property to capture Lauren’s second outfit and further explore the grounds. The light was really starting to look magical so we made our way to the top of the rock lookout. It was absolutely spectacular. The sunlight danced across the mountain tops and bathed everything in golden light. Before Lauren and Matt slipped into their final outfits we stopped at the infinity pool for some surreal portraits.

Final Moments

To cap off the evening Lauren donned a floor-length floral dress and Matt rocked a Navy suite. Just as the sun was setting we made one final climb up to the rocky lookout point. The sky was a beautiful shade of violet and we captured some seriously epic photos of the pair. I’m so thrilled to have captured this beautiful session for my couple and I cannot wait to see them next year in New York!
