Vasquez Rocks Engagement

Olivia and Christian flew out from New York for their Vasquez Rocks engagement shoot. The couple currently resides on the East Coast but will be getting married next year in Palm Springs at the historic O’Donnell House. We took advantage of their visit out West and headed out to one of my favorite local landscapes. Olivia even surprised Christian with a vintage car that we got to shoot with. Leading up to the shoot we sent many emails back and forth until we found the perfect car. She settled on a vintage Porsche 1600 Speedster in black- perfect for putting a smile on Christian’s face.

The weather was a little surprising when we arrived- lightly drizzling with strong gusts of wind. Not ideal conditions for an engagement session but they both had great attitudes, were beautifully dressed, and fully trusted me. Olivia wore a stunning full-length silk emerald dress with an open back and almond heels. Christian channeled his East Coast style and donned a fitted navy suit from Suit Supply and an open white shirt. He accompanied his look with chocolate leather dress shoes.

The session began shooting around the Porsche. The couple’s classic outfits alongside the vintage car looked just like old-school Hollywood. You pair that with the incredible landscape and it looked like they just stepped out of a movie. Their chemistry also made photographing them a true pleasure! Capturing genuine emotion from them both was effortless.

Outfit Number Two

Once we wrapped with the car it was time for outfit number two of the evening. Olivia rocked a black linen mini dress with puffed sleeves and black open-toe heels. We made our way to the backside of the rocks. The desert landscape was wonderful to play with and offered a huge variety of locations to photograph the pair.

Olivia and Christian were both such a joy to work with! I can’t wait to see them again next year and capture them tying the knot in Palm Springs!
